The research into genre helped me see the most common themes within our chosen genre and see what linked to certain genres, this enabled me to create a piece of work which could be easily identified as pop-rock through the codes and conventions.
2) How did your research into audience contribute to your production work?
My research into the pop-rock audience gave me a brief idea of what the audience is like and what kind of stereotype is given within them, I only used a small secondary research method to find out my results, which I knew would only give me a small amount of data. I think I would do a larger research and planning scheme if I was to do this again as I would be able to find out a broader range of information about my audience.
3) What pre-production planning techniques did you employ (scripting, storyboarding, shot-listing, etc.)?
I created a story board so that I had all our basic and early ideas for the video in one place as well as a filming schedule with what I would need, who I would need and the shot type I would use. This enabled me to draw from my original ideas and easily edit my video if need be making the production a lot easier.
4) How effective was your planning – how did it help you in the production phase?
My planning was very good at the start as I had my deadlines all set up and I was able to follow them to plan, this enabled me to complete work on time, thus leaving me time to check and prepare for the next stages of my production.
5) What did you learn from planning your first production that helped you to improve your planning for the second?
I learnt that while research and planning is important, I need to make sure I don't spend too much time on this so that my main construction and editing stages become rushed however, planning well will ultimately result in a better or more developed final product.
6)How did you use audience feedback to influence your production work while it was in progress?
I looked closely at the feedback I got from my audience feedback and changed my work due to this such as changing the camera we used in the filming as my audience said some shots were grainy and of a low quality. This helped me to change my work to make sure it look good and was up to the audience standard.
